Lenga Forest / Patagonia 2008

Darwin didn’t care much about the flora at America’s Southern end. Most of it seemed “miserable“ to him. Not quite fair – the lenga, the southernmost tree on earth, is knotty and graceful at the same time. The horses appreciate it, also for reasons of colour harmony.

Darwin hatte nicht viel übrig für die Vegetation am Südzipfel des amerikanischen Kontinents. Das meiste kam ihm „trostlos“ vor. Ungerecht – die Lenga-Südbuche ist nicht nur der südlichste Baum auf dem Globus, sondern auch eine faszinierende Mischung aus Knorrigkeit und Anmut. Die Pferde wissen, was sie daran haben, auch farblich.
